About us
5GN Group is a collective of companies, including 5G Networks, a licensed telecommunications carrier providing network and data centre services across Australia and internationally, and AUCyber, a Managed Service Provider (MSP) and Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) for mid-market corporate and government clients.
We believe every organisation, whatever its size, should have access to secure, fit-for-purpose IT and telecommunications. Our team is guided by honesty, integrity, respect, collaboration, reliability and perseverance.
About the role
As Systems Administrator, you’ll keep our customers’ IT environments, and our own internal tooling such as RMM (Remote Monitoring and Management), reliable, secure and efficient. - Diagnose and resolve incidents and service requests within agreed SLAs, escalating complex or high-risk issues
- Apply security patches, endpoint controls and configuration standards, remediate vulnerabilities, and help respond to security incidents
- Monitor backups, triage failures and warnings, and deploy backup systems for customers using standard deployment guides
- Triage monitoring alerts by priority and tune monitoring metrics
- Plan, test, document and implement changes, upgrades, migrations and projects with minimal disruption
- Maintain system diagrams, procedures, inventories and audit evidence
- Give clear technical advice and guidance to colleagues and customers
- Automate repeatable tasks and recommend practical improvements to our services and controls

- Experience with virtualisation, backup, endpoint management, monitoring and security tools
- Scripting or automation skills (PowerShell, Bash)
- Methodical troubleshooting, risk assessment and root-cause analysis
- Clear written and verbal communication, including explaining technical matters to non-technical people
- Good organisation and prioritisation, and sound judgement under pressure
- A relevant tertiary qualification in IT or computer science, or equivalent demonstrated experience
- Experience administering business-critical systems in a comparable environment
Nice to have
- Industry certifications such as Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco or ITIL
- Experience with service management practices, change control and security frameworks
