Systems Administrator

Summary

Provides IT support and systems administration for business systems, managing servers, networks, and user access while ensuring security and data protection.

Salary: £28,000 - 32,000 per year

Requirements:
  • Experience in IT support and systems administration; exposure to networks and servers is beneficial
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills
  • Experience supporting business systems/applications and managing user access
  • Understanding of security, data protection, and backup/restore best practice
  • Good organisational and documentation skills
  • Confidence training non-technical users
  • Proactive mindset with a continuous improvement approach
  • Scripting or light development experience is desirable, but not essential
Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1st and 2nd line IT support by diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and access issues
  • Administer internal business applications, including portal and CRM-style systems, and manage user permissions
  • Support application maintenance, upgrades, and integrations such as Microsoft 365 and similar tools
  • Help maintain network and server infrastructure, including monitoring, backups, and basic security controls
  • Assist with process improvements and simple automation or scripting where appropriate
  • Deliver user training and maintain documentation and user guides
  • Maintain an IT asset register covering hardware, licences, and configurations
  • Support basic website and content updates if required
