The Role
As a System Administrator, you’ll play a hands-on role in supporting the performance, reliability and availability of Sharon AI’s large-scale CPU and GPU infrastructure across Australian data centres.
Working across both physical and virtual environments, you’ll be involved in everything from racking and maintaining hardware through to Linux administration, virtualisation, Kubernetes, networking, storage and system optimisation. This is a broad technical role suited to someone who enjoys solving complex problems and working across the full infrastructure stack.
Key Responsibilities
Administer, maintain and troubleshoot Linux-based production environments
Rack, stack and cable servers, networking and storage equipment within data centres
Manage KVM/libvirt virtualisation platforms and compute workloads
Deploy and support containerised applications and Kubernetes clusters
Configure and maintain networking infrastructure, including DNS, routing and firewalls
Manage high-speed and clustered storage environments
Diagnose and resolve hardware issues across servers, GPUs, networking and storage
Apply security patches, system updates and configuration standards
Monitor infrastructure health, troubleshoot performance issues and support site reliability
Maintain secure environments, including PKI/TLS and encryption standards
Contribute to continuous improvement and optimisation of compute environments
Skills & Experience
2+ years’ experience in systems administration, cloud infrastructure or technical operations
Strong foundational knowledge across Linux, networking, virtualisation and hardware
Experience working with physical infrastructure and data centre environments
Exposure to Kubernetes, containers and virtualisation technologies
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities
Tertiary qualification in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline is preferred
Experience within high-performance computing, cloud or large-scale infrastructure environments is advantageous
Relevant certifications such as RHCSA, CKA, AWS or Azure are advantageous
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across technical teams
