Mid-level role managing Windows/Linux servers, Active Directory, VMware/Hyper-V, backups, and cloud tools while supporting global infrastructure teams.
We’re partnering with a growing organisation looking for a System Administrator to join their Melbourne-based infrastructure team on a permanent basis.
This is a hands-on, mid-level role where you’ll take ownership of the day-to-day operation and support of the local systems environment, while also working closely with infrastructure teams across the APAC, EMEA and Americas regions.
Key Responsibilities:
Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:30pm
On-call: Regular rotation with senior systems engineering support

This is a hands-on, mid-level role where you’ll take ownership of the day-to-day operation and support of the local systems environment, while also working closely with infrastructure teams across the APAC, EMEA and Americas regions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and support Windows and Linux server environments.
- Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP and identity/access management.
- Support VMware and Hyper-V virtualisation environments.
- Manage backup and disaster recovery processes, including restore testing.
- Maintain endpoint management, security and patching across servers and devices.
- Monitor system performance and respond to infrastructure alerts and incidents.
- Troubleshoot L1/L2/L3 systems issues and escalate complex issues where required.
- Maintain system documentation, runbooks and configuration records.
- Collaborate with regional and global infrastructure and security teams.
- 3–5 years’ experience in Systems Administration or IT Infrastructure.
- Strong experience with Windows Server and Active Directory.
- Hands-on experience with VMware and/or Hyper-V.
- Experience with backup and disaster recovery tools such as Veeam or Commvault.
- Exposure to endpoint management tools such as SCCM or Intune.
- Working knowledge of Azure and/or AWS.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG or Nagios.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow, Jira or similar ITSM platforms.
- Basic scripting or automation skills using PowerShell or Bash.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
