Position

System Administrator

  • Location: Belcamp, MD
  • Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain Secret Clearance - U.S. citizenship required
  • Salary: $70,000 - $90,000 Depending on Experience and Education
  • Travel: 5%

Position Summary

SURVICE Engineering is currently seeking a System Administrator to support our Corporate IT Department. You will accelerate your career and become an integral team member within the defense community.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities of System Administrator

  • Provision, maintain, and secure server and network infrastructure, including Windows and Linux-based systems.
  • Manage Microsoft Endpoint management solutions for mobile devices and workstations, providing support to other IT personnel for system imaging, application and operating system updates, and device inventory collection.
  • Maintain Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) server components and virtual desktop images.
  • Maintain components of a classified computing environment and conduct day-to-day operations.
  • Provide support for bringing new or existing IT equipment into compliance with company security policy.
  • Perform tier 2 helpdesk support, either directory to the end-user or through guidance for other support personnel.
  • Create thorough documentation of internal processes and procedures.
  • Comprehend and enforce company security policies, providing feedback on policy as needed.
  • Conduct fact-finding exercises to ensure continuous compliance across the environment.
  • Collaborate with Vendors for advanced troubleshooting of systems as need arises.
  • Collaborate across IT domains as necessary, providing additional cyber security or helpdesk support.

Minimum Qualifications of System Administrator
Bachelor's Degree in Technical Field of study and 1+ years of relevant experience. Candidates are not required to possess all qualifications; is you possess some of the desired qualifications, please apply.

Desired Experience

  • Experience with managing Linux system, RedHat Enterprise Linux or derivatives preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Endpoint management solutions (Intune, System Center Endpoint Manager) preferred.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and security controls within a multi-project environment.
  • Ability to interpret and determine course of action based on policy frameworks for situations that are not explicitly defined.
  • Team-focused attitude, willingness to work with personnel both local and remote.
  • Experience with industry-standard virtualization technologies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and troubleshooting/problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in-office five days a week, providing occasional off-hours support.
