Systems Administrator

The Driving Force Group of Companies is a network of world-class transportation and fleet management solutions companies. We're proud to be an Alberta success story that began in a rented office above a small service station. With a can-do attitude and people-first culture, we've grown into an industry leader, operating across Canada, spanning over 40 locations with over 600+ employees.
We are currently looking for a Systems Administrator at our Edmonton location.
What Moves You:

You find real satisfaction in being the person employees turn to when technology isn't cooperating, you're patient, resourceful, and take genuine pride in resolving issues quickly and clearly so people can get back to doing their best work.
You think about security the way a good operator thinks about risk, proactively, consistently, and with an understanding that protecting systems and access isn't just a policy requirement, it's a fundamental responsibility you take personally.
You're early in your IT career and hungry to grow — the idea of working across Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS, Intune, and Fortinet in a fully cloud-based environment genuinely excites you, and you're actively developing your skills to go deeper.
You're organized and methodical, you document what you do, follow processes with discipline, and understand that clean records and accurate asset management are what separate a reactive IT function from a trusted one.

What You'll Do:

Serve as the primary point of contact for Level 1 and Level 2 IT support — receiving, prioritizing, and resolving incidents and service requests across laptops, mobile devices, Microsoft 365 applications, VPN, connectivity, MFA, and account management through phone, email, ticketing, and remote support tools.
Administer the organization's fully cloud-based environment including Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Azure, and AWS, monitoring system health, application availability, backups, and cloud subscriptions while coordinating with vendors to investigate and resolve technical issues.
Manage user access and identity across the full employee lifecycle: onboarding, offboarding, transfers, and role changes, applying least-privilege and role-based access-control principles and ensuring every access change is properly authorized before it's made.
Oversee endpoint configuration, deployment, patching, security compliance, and secure retirement through Microsoft Intune, while supporting endpoint protection, encryption, antivirus, and email security tools across the organization.
Assist with cybersecurity remediation, phishing investigations, vulnerability patching, and incident response while contributing to IT projects including cloud migrations, application deployments, and security improvements in collaboration with internal teams and external service providers.

What You'll Bring:

1 to 3 years of experience in IT helpdesk, technical support, cloud administration, or a related role, backed by post-secondary education in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline.
Working knowledge of Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, and familiarity with Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, Azure, and AWS, along with a basic understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, Wi-Fi, VPNs, firewalls, and network security fundamentals.
A solid grasp of cybersecurity principles including least privilege, MFA, patch management, encryption, and phishing protection, with a genuine security mindset that you apply consistently in your day-to-day technical work.
Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills with the patience to assist non-technical users clearly and the ability to manage multiple incidents simultaneously without letting anything fall through the cracks.
A relevant certification or active progress toward one, ITIL Foundation, Microsoft Azure Administrator, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Security+, AWS Cloud Practitioner, or a Fortinet certification are all considered assets.
