UNCOMN is seeking a Systems Administrator (Entry/Junior-Level) to:
- Provide Tier 1 end-user and basic system support for unclassified environments through established support channels.
- Assist with troubleshooting common hardware, software, application, network, and access-related issues.
- Escalate complex technical issues to senior team members while helping document the problem, actions taken, and resolution status.
- Support routine system administration activities, including user account support, system checks, basic maintenance, and coordination of updates.
- Use team tracking and documentation tools to record work, update tasks, and support day-to-day operations.
- Assist with routine operational procedures, basic automation tasks, deployments, and system support activities under senior guidance.
- Help monitor system status, review basic reports, and support activities that maintain system availability, security, and compliance.
- Maintain clear documentation, standard operating procedures, and support materials while collaborating with team members on IT projects and improvements.
- **This is a hybrid position that requires working onsite at our HQ and Scott AFB, with the ability to flex to additional onsite days as needed to support operational requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM-based course of study, or 2+ years of related professional experience.
- Must be comfortable obtaining a CompTIA Security+ certification within 30 days of the start of employment. Must also be willing to obtain additional certifications as required by future client or contract needs.
- Must be eligible to obtain a security clearance, granted by the U.S. Government, which requires U.S. citizenship. The government also uses 13 adjudicative guidelines to determine an individual's eligibility.
- Hands-on experience with Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and network issues, with the ability to clearly document and follow technical procedures.
- Familiarity with Docker and GitLab CI/CD.
- Experience with scripting and systems technologies, including PowerShell, Bash, or Python, as well as TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VPNs, and virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM).
- Active DoW Secret clearance or higher and/or CompTIA Security+ certification.
