Systems and Network Administrator

Brown Distributing Company (BDC) is a family-owned beverage distributor serving the Central Texas market since 1962. We distribute a wide range of quality beverage products while upholding the highest standards of service and salesmanship at all times.

This is a hands-on position working in our Austin office. Remote work is not available for this position. This is a Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-5:00PM role. Occasional after-hours or on-call support may be required at times.

The Systems & Network Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and support of BDC’s IT infrastructure, including network systems, servers, storage, and security platforms. This role serves as the primary escalation point for infrastructure-related issues and is expected to independently troubleshoot and resolve problems to maintain system reliability and uptime.

· 3-6+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, and/or network administration

· Bachelor’s degree in computer science (or related), or equivalent work experience

· Industry certifications (preferred)

· Strong troubleshooting skills across systems, networks, and user-facing issues

· Working, demonstrated experience managing:
- Enterprise network and firewall platforms (FortiGate preferred)
- Windows Server environments and Active Directory
- Virtualized environments, including VMware and/or Microsoft Hyper-V
- Enterprise network switching and wireless infrastructure (HP Aruba preferred)
- SAN and enterprise storage environments
- Backup and recovery platforms (Veeam preferred)

· Familiarity with endpoint security, patch management, and vulnerability remediation

· Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and under pressure
