Systems Architect - Senior-Level - TS/SCI Clearance Required
Description
CORE-CSI is a small business headquartered in Sterling, VA. We provide trusted and results-oriented expertise to the Intelligence Community, the Department of Defense, and other Federal and Commercial customers across the US. Core-CSI is seeking a talented Expert Systems Architect with strong expertise in Enterprise Architecture, Solution Architecture, and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
Overall Assignment Description
Expert Systems Architects assist in leading the design and development of solutions for complex application problems, API design, data services, platform services, cloud services, and infrastructure services to meet user requirements and align with strategic goals and Enterprise Architecture. The Systems Architect must be able to develop and create architecture views using various architecture modeling tools, as needed, to assist international partners in understanding the ASG architecture and its alignment to the GEA enterprise.
The primary focus of the Systems Architect will be the development and design of the ASG architecture. The Systems Architect is responsible for developing and briefing architecture status at key senior international leadership forums, in addition to providing technical advice to the TIP leadership team. In this role, the Systems Architect will work closely with the ACP/APMO team to assist with the development of various architecture views. Additionally, the architect must be able to respond quickly to ad-hoc tasking in support of the Liaison National Officers (LNOs).
While the Systems Architect provides sovereign support to the international partner, he/she will report directly to the TIP government team and will take tasking from them. The candidate must have the capability to balance competing tasking and understand the sensitivity involved when working with international partners.
Duties May Include
• Assist the Government in directing system architects in the design, development, maintenance, and documentation of solution architectures, ensuring traceability to the Enterprise Architecture and Enterprise requirements.
• Assist with the analysis of user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate or improve existing systems and review computer system capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations.
• Advise the Government on proposed changes to solution architecture designs based on analysis of requirements and emerging technologies.
• Serve as a Senior/Expert-level Systems Architect, providing technical leadership, architectural guidance, and mentorship to Senior-, Mid-, and Junior-level System Architect contractors.
• Oversee and coordinate the work of Senior-, Mid-, and Junior-level System Architect contractors.
• Design and update Enterprise-level digital models and representations of architectures that capture Enterprise requirements and provide roadmaps to balance cost, schedule, and performance.
• Support the continued development, maintenance, and documentation of the ASG Architecture.
• Recommend, instantiate, and operate architecture tools that support analysis and decision-making through architecture data in the form of models, simulations, reports, and views so stakeholders may use architecture data throughout the acquisition and development lifecycle to answer investment and divestment questions.
• Create appropriate and effective architecture information and artifacts in accordance with the Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) and the Intelligence Community's (IC) Program Architecture Guidance (PAG) that are relevant and usable across NGA, NSG, ASG, USG, commercial, and foreign partners.
• Use the Joint Architecture Reference Models (JARM) to describe, analyze, and identify potential architectural service gaps, support Analysis of Alternatives (AoA), leverage existing resources, and assist with investment and divestment decisions for the agency.
• Apply Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methods, processes, and tools to build and maintain digital systems models of services, components, systems, and subsystems across NGA, NSG, ASG, USG, commercial, and foreign partners.
• Use Cameo Systems Modeler / Cameo Enterprise Architecture and related MBSE tools to develop, maintain, analyze, and communicate system and enterprise architecture models.
• Use MBSE to establish and maintain traceability between requirements, design artifacts, solution architectures, and enterprise-level architectures.
• Develop and maintain architecture models and views using SysML and other applicable architecture modeling languages and standards.
• Manage and maintain the necessary processes and tools for automated maintenance and management of architecture artifacts within the enterprise architecture repository.
• Provide expert-level technical advice, architectural assessments, and recommendations to senior Government and international leadership.
• Develop and present architecture briefings, technical assessments, and recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholder forums.
Requirements
Required
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related STEM degree program. 12+ years of experience as a Systems Architect may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• 12+ years of experience as a Senior/Expert Systems Architect in government or industry in relevant work areas, including Enterprise Architecture, Solution Architecture, Data Architecture, Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF), or Intelligence Community's (IC) Program Architecture Guidance (PAG).
• Demonstrated experience leading and providing technical direction for complex enterprise and solution architecture efforts.
• Experience communicating and collaborating both within and external to the organization, including with senior executives, Government leaders, and international partners.
• Experience developing, maintaining, and presenting enterprise and solution architecture models and views.
• Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), including MBSE processes, methods, tools, and modeling languages.
• Experience with Cameo Systems Modeler, Cameo Enterprise Architecture, or equivalent MBSE/architecture modeling tools.
• TS/SCI clearance adjudication or ability to obtain SCI and pass a polygraph.
Desired
• Advanced working knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) processes, tools, methods, and languages.
• Hands-on experience with Cameo Systems Modeler / Cameo Enterprise Architecture.
• Experience with SysML and digital engineering methodologies.
• Experience developing and maintaining architecture models in support of enterprise-level decision-making.
• Federated Enterprise Architect Certifications: Certified Enterprise Architect.
• National Defense University, College of Information and Cyberspace, Enterprise Architecture Certification.
• Experience applying DoDAF, IC PAG, JARM, and related enterprise architecture frameworks.
• Experience supporting architecture efforts involving NGA, NSG, ASG, USG, commercial, and foreign partners.
