Systems Engineer

About the role
CAPDA is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to support the delivery of complex Defence capability across acquisition, integration and sustainment environments. Working within integrated Defence and industry teams, you will contribute to systems engineering, technical assurance, Test and Evaluation (T&E), configuration management and engineering governance activities, supporting the delivery of capability in accordance with Defence requirements and technical standards.
Key responsibilities
Develop, review and maintain systems engineering documentation and management artefacts.
Support systems engineering, integration and configuration management activities.
Develop and review technical certification plans and engineering documentation.
Contribute to Test and Evaluation (T&E), Verification and Validation (V&V), engineering assurance and certification activities.
Review engineering deliverables, technical documentation and system requirements.
Support engineering change management and technical risk management.
Contribute to the development, testing, integration and sustainment of Defence systems and capability.
Engage with Defence, industry and technical stakeholders across the capability lifecycle.
About you
We are looking for candidates with:
Demonstrated Systems Engineering experience within a Defence environment.
Experience with Systems Engineering Management Plans (SEMPs), Technical Certification Plans (TCPs), requirements management and/or engineering assurance.
Experience with configuration management, engineering change and technical risk management.
Knowledge of Verification and Validation (V&V) and Test and Evaluation activities.
Understanding of Defence engineering governance, certification and technical assurance.
Strong technical writing and stakeholder engagement skills.
Experience within Defence acquisition, integration, sustainment or CASG environments.
Qualifications in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
A current NV1 security clearance or higher.
Highly regarded skills and experience
Test and Evaluation (T&E) practitioner experience or accreditation.
Experience developing or reviewing T&E Strategies, Test and Evaluation Master Plans (TEMP) or associated T&E artefacts.
Experience supporting Developmental, Acceptance, Operational or In-Service T&E activities.
Experience with Defence communications, command and control, C4 or information systems.
Mechanical engineering, design review or platform integration experience.
Experience with requirements management or Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools.
Understanding of Defence capability lifecycle and engineering governance frameworks.
