Systems Engineer

Salary: $125k - $140k base salary + super (Pro rata)

• $125k - $140k base salary + superannuation (Pro rata)
• Flexible start time 6am – 2.30pm, 7am – 3.30pm or 8am – 4.30pm
• 6-month fixed term contract 40 hour week Monday to Friday

Based in Eagle Farm, this family-owned Australian business is a key supplier to the building and construction industry and manufacturer a variety of window and door products.

Reporting to the Systems Team Lead you'll take ownership of Microsoft infrastructure across Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure and Microsoft 365. Working with (3) Junior Engineers The role has a strong infrastructure/engineering focus, including virtualisation, security, architecture and technical problem solving.

Tasks & Responsibilities

• Design, implement and administer Microsoft infrastructure, including Windows Server, Active Directory and Azure
• Monitor and troubleshoot systems to ensure performance, reliability, resilience and security
• Manage virtualisation platforms including VMware, Hyper-V and/or OLVM.
• Support and integrate business applications within the Microsoft technology environment
• Analyse requirements and contribute to infrastructure architecture and technical solutions
• Lead and support infrastructure projects, upgrades and migrations.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation, architecture diagrams and operational procedures
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers and collaborate across IT teams

Experience & Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience as a Systems Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer or similar role, with a strong Microsoft focus
• Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server, Active Directory and Azure.
• Experience across Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, Defender, Teams, Exchange Online and SharePoint
• Understanding and practical application of IT security, infrastructure resilience and best practices
• Proven analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a proactive approach to resolving complex technical issues
• Familiarity with virtualisation technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V and/or OLVM
• Working knowledge of networking, Citrix/RDS and SQL Server/RDBMS is desirable
• Relevant Microsoft or industry certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert or MCSE are highly desirable
