Systems Engineer (Infrastructure & Application Support)
- Core Experience:
- Must have hands-on experience in System Administration for production systems, with a strong focus on Linux.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in OS patching, upgrades, and security management.
- Knowledge of OS virtualization, HA/clustering, replication, backup, and recovery techniques.
- Working knowledge of Networking (TCP/IP), physical hardware, and/or storage systems.
- Soft Skills: Self-motivated, able to work independently with minimum supervision, and a strong team player capable of thriving in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.
- Key Specific Skillsets (Core Competencies):
- Middleware & Web Servers: Experience with Apache HTTP, WebSphere, JBOSS, Tomcat, or IIS.
- Messaging & Reporting: Familiarity with IBM MQ and Crystal Report servers.
- Troubleshooting: Ability to diagnose and resolve application-level issues, specifically JDBC-related issues on J2EE servers.
- Preferences & Desirable Skills (Nice-to-Haves):
- Unix Expertise: Hands-on experience with Unix-based systems (Solaris or AIX) is highly advantageous.
- Security Access Management: Knowledge of Integrated Security Access Management software, specifically IBM ISAM.
- Database Connectivity: Working knowledge of Databases (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL) and JDBC drivers.
- Modern Infrastructure: Experience with Cloud platforms, Docker, Kubernetes, and DevOps practices.
- Certifications: Holding relevant certifications such as RHCE, LPIC, MCSE, or Unix/Linux certifications is a plus.
