Systems Engineer

We are supporting a leading aerospace client in the development and enhancement of advanced air-to-air refuelling systems for the KC-46 platform. This is a hands-on Systems Engineering role focused on refuelling pod technology, working at the intersection of mechanical, structural, and design engineering disciplines within a highly collaborative onsite environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete systems engineering activities across the lifecycle of air-to-air refuelling pod systems
  • Work closely with mechanical, structural, and design engineering teams to integrate and optimise pod performance
  • Identify and resolve technical challenges relating to system integration, performance, and structural considerations
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes and system robustness
  • Interface with internal stakeholders and programme teams to ensure delivery against project milestones

Key Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in Systems Engineering within aerospace or defence environments
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and structural systems integration
  • Experience working on complex aerospace platforms or subsystems (refuelling systems, pods, or similar highly desirable)
  • Ability to operate in a hands-on, onsite engineering environment with cross-functional teams
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex technical challenges

Desirable Experience

  • Experience with air-to-air refuelling systems or tanker aircraft (e.g. KC-46 or similar platforms)
  • Exposure to structural analysis considerations within system design
  • Knowledge of aerospace regulatory and certification standards
