Systems Engineer – Quantum Infrastructure
Salary: £40,000 - 65,000 per year
Requirements:- Experience with Linux administration
- Experience with Windows Server
- Experience in infrastructure engineering
- Experience with Kubernetes
- Experience with VMware or other virtualisation platforms
- Experience with Terraform, Ansible, and infrastructure as code
- Experience with automation and scripting
- Experience with enterprise networking
- Experience with hardware integration or server deployment
- Hands-on experience with physical server hardware, hardware installation, integration, and troubleshooting
- Experience owning and supporting production environments over the long term
- Experience building resilient, repeatable infrastructure and managing systems throughout their lifecycle
- Experience in scientific research, advanced manufacturing, defence, high-performance computing, or similar technical environments is advantageous but not essential
- Build and maintain production infrastructure
- Configure Linux and Windows servers
- Integrate specialist scientific hardware with enterprise infrastructure
- Manage networking across laboratory and production environments
- Build and maintain infrastructure as code
- Automate server deployment and configuration
- Support Kubernetes-based platforms
- Troubleshoot infrastructure and hardware issues
- Work closely with DevOps Engineers, Software Engineers, and Quantum Physicists
- Help design, deploy, and maintain the infrastructure behind production-scale quantum computing systems
