Systems Engineer

You design, build, deploy, tune, and support high-performance Linux-based servers across data centres and offices. You diagnose and resolve server issues, create and maintain packages and scripts, optimize systems to reduce latency, manage configuration changes, collaborate with technology groups and vendors, and contribute to infrastructure strategy and capacity planning.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, diagnose, and resolve Linux-based server issues
• Create, test, deploy, and maintain packages, batch files, and operating system scripts
• Identify optimization opportunities to reduce latency and increase efficiency
• Manage move, add, and change requests and configuration
• Liaise with internal technology groups and vendors to deliver solutions
• Assist with long-term infrastructure strategies and capacity planning

Requirements

• 5+ years of Linux/Unix administration experience
• Kernel tuning experience
• Strong understanding of networking and network topology
• Knowledge of Kickstart, Ansible, Yum, Git, and SVN
• Understanding of NAS environments
• Understanding of NFS, DHCP, IP, TCP, UDP, TFTP, and NTP
• Strong scripting ability using Bash and Python
• BIOS configuration experience
• Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate work with teams and vendors
• Understanding of milli-, nano-, and microseconds and their importance
