Systems Engineering Manager
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of sustaining engineers (product, systems, mechanical, electrical) supporting fielded semiconductor equipment
- Drive resolution of customer escalations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions across the installed base
- Own sustaining roadmap including reliability improvements, cost reductions, and quality initiatives
- Coordinate cross-functionally with R&D, Manufacturing, Service, Supply Chain, and Marketing
- Establish operational objectives and execute plans to meet business and customer commitments
- Allocate resources and prioritize activities between escalations, sustaining improvements, and new product support
- Ensure effective documentation, knowledge transfer, and standardization of solutions
- Develop team capability through coaching, performance management, and technical mentorship
- Support product releases and transitions into sustaining, including training Service and Manufacturing teams
- Interface with customers as required, including travel to support critical issue resolution
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong systems-level understanding of semiconductor equipment (optical, mechanical, electrical subsystems)
- Proven experience in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and field escalation resolution
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and global support organizations
- Strong communication skills with ability to interface with customers and senior leadership
- Ability to drive decisions in ambiguous, high-pressure situations
Travel Requirements:
- Occasional travel required (typically up to ~25–50%) depending on escalation and customer needs
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or related field
- 8+years of relevant experience in semiconductor equipment or complex systems
- 2+years of experience leading or managing technical teams
