Key Responsibilities
Reporting to Senior Systems Manager (Artificial Intelligence Systems), the incumbent will be responsible for leading a team of experienced professionals to oversee the operation and support for the operation of the Data Collaboration Lab (DCL) and the data services. He/she will also play an essential role in assuring the sustainability and continuity of the system operation support, as well as supporting end-to-end collaboration processes with academic and non-academic stakeholders.
Oversee the development, operation, and technical support of the Hospital Authority Data Services.
Lead and manage a team of data engineers and technical team to support the technical architect of the data platform and the corresponding development and operation of Data Services to fulfill data research demand including universities, government agencies, and related parties.
Promote and liaise with academic and non-academic parties regarding the use of the Data Services, including the Clinical Research Awareness & Data Learning Environment (CRADLE), Data Analysis & Research Environment (DARE), and Extended Platform for Experimentation Research & Training (EXPERT) and develop new data services and support the corresponding operation and continuous improvement.
Work closely with Health Informatics Team to conduct feasibility and effort estimation on the research demands as listed above.
Manage budget and oversee the progress of committed annual plan targets, anticipate risks, and provide regular reports and exception escalation to senior management, relevant government bodies and stakeholders, along with recommendations for mitigation.
Seek opportunities and recommend approaches for technological advancements to continuously improve work practices and the efficiency of Data Services.
Entry Requirements
Degree in Computer Science or relevant disciplines; or equivalent.
Over 10 years’ post qualification Information Technology (IT) related experience.
Preferable Attributes/Exposure
Higher qualification in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Mathematics, and related disciplines or equivalent.
Demonstrated sound knowledge and experience in below areas\:-
Technical architecture of Big Data Platform
Clinical data and the corresponding data types and pipelines to extract, transform, and load into the Big Data Platform
Big data research demand and applications on improving healthcare service
Being a technical team leader in system development, implementation & support
Able to work independently and effectively in a team environment.
Strong business acumen, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese.
