JOB PURPOSE

BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force aircraft and train RSAF personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

As the Systems Manager - Avionics, the Job Holder is responsible to the Trials and Integration Manger for providing functional assistance and support to the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) Engineering Authority (EA) Section Manager.

The Systems Manager – Avionics, is responsible for providing support, guidance and assistance to the RSAF in the development and exploitation of the RSAF EA capability.

The Job Holder will be in daily contact with the RSAF at a senior level within the Department of Aeronautical Engineering (DoAE) providing support for all avionic system integration.

The Job Holder should be flexible, adaptable and be able to support all bases in Kingdom, RSAF HQ and any location within or out of the kingdom as requested/directed by the RSAF Director of Aeronautical Engineering or their nominated section manager.

The Job Holder will be required to make a significant contribution to the development of SN engineers within the team. This will require effective executive liaison with other elements within the organisation to help fulfil the company’s strategy to develop the SN engineering capability within the company.

The Job Holder will be responsible for the professional mentoring of a Saudi National GG5 professional engineer in accordance with an agreed Learning and Development plan. The Senior Systems-Avionic GG5 professional engineer on promotion to GG11 will ultimately replace the EE executive manager in accordance with agreed BAE Systems Saudisation plans.

RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION

· Principal Accountabilities\:

· Maintain an awareness of the BAE Systems Saudi Arabia engineering best practice and share this with the RSAF Directorate of Aeronautical Engineering.

· Provide functional guidance and support to the RSAF EA in developing an indigenous capability for the management of change to an air-system and its supporting MPOL.

· Provide functional guidance and assistance in the definition, planning and review of the qualification & certification activities to be undertaken by the RSAF EA in support of RSAF avionic system service modifications.

· Provide functional guidance and assistance to the RSAF EA in the development of Hazard Analysis and Safety Cases prior to undertaking any activity.

· Assist the RSAF EA with the identification and development of supporting evidence required to achieve the required levels of confidence for system changes.

· Assist the RSAF EA with system safety related incidents/accidents investigations and assist with the evaluation and provision of recommendations on defect and incident reports for BAE Systems platforms.

· Maintain working relationships with other RSAF Directorates, BAE Systems Saudi Arabia deployed engineering resource at RSAF Bases, Platform project teams, MODSAP and functional/networking links to BAE Systems Business Units.

· Support and assist the RSAF in the generation of system integration plans and procedures for changes to existing systems to improve safety, reliability, maintainability or performanceProvide functional assistance in the functional development of system trials, integration and testing procedures and documentation to verify performance to specification requirements.

· Provide functional assistance in the acceptance testing of aircraft avionic systems and equipment modifications/upgrades.

· Provide functional support to RSAF Officers at meetings.
