Systems Programmer

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Systems Programmer to join our Management Information Systems (MIS) team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, testing, implementing, and maintaining computer systems and applications to support business operations. This role involves gathering system requirements, troubleshooting technical issues, maintaining data integrity, and recommending technology improvements to enhance system efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, test, implement, and maintain computer systems and programs, working independently or collaboratively with the team.
• Gather and analyze user requirements to ensure that system solutions meet business needs.
• Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) and provide user training when necessary.
• Plan, design, analyze, and recommend system enhancements, software solutions, and technology tools.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, including installations, repairs, and technical support.
• Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of programs and data.
• Follow data security protocols and established IT policies.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation for system development, upgrades, and implementations.
• Evaluate and introduce new technologies to improve business processes and system performance.
• Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in systems programming, software development, application support, or systems analysis is an advantage.
• Knowledge of programming languages, databases, and software development methodologies.
• Familiarity with system testing, debugging, troubleshooting, and implementation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical documentation skills.
• Ability to gather requirements, communicate with end users, and work collaboratively with different teams.
• Knowledge of data security, data integrity, and system maintenance practices.
• Able to work independently, manage assigned projects, and meet deadlines.

Preferred Technical Skills

• Experience with programming languages and database technologies.
• Familiarity with Oracle APEX, PostgreSQL, or similar platforms is an advantage.
• Knowledge of application development, system integration, and database management is a plus.
