Job Description\:
The Systems Technology & Capability Delivery Lead role involves working as part of and providing engineering leadership for a dynamic, highly collaborative, multi-disciplinary engineering team to drive the development, delivery and adoption of systems capabilities for crewed and uncrewed platforms within the FalconWorks organisation to support a diverse portfolio of novel technology programmes.
Core duties\:
- Operating mostly in the Technology Readiness Level 1-3 space, but venturing into higher TRLs, you will coordinate and directly contribute to the early research, development, instantiation, evaluation and demonstration of the very latest processes, concepts and technologies associated with all systems
- Defining and articulating systems research activities coherently mapped to technology visions and road maps created in collaboration with and agreed by likely adoption stakeholders and internal technology strategy owners
- Leading the delivery of systems research activities outcomes in close alliance with internal and external partners, thinking beyond traditional Engineering Discipline and team boundaries, and driving effective collaboration between multi-disciplinary internal and external teams
- Guiding the use of robust experimental principles and iterative design, development, integration, assessment and demonstration practices, underpinned by good Systems Engineering methods and associated Industry Standards
- Contributing technical content to Business Winning activities, including the development of business cases and proposals to steer Intelligent Systems research bids and internal investment activities
Essential Skills\:
- Degree level or equivalent experience in a STEM subject, and either have or plan to pursue professional registration (e.g. IEng, CEng)
- You will have a solid, hands-on practical grounding in the domain of Systems Engineering
- Experience of Maturity, Configuration and Requirements Management tools and processes eg DOORS
- Worked within a research context where requirements and outcomes are often ill-defined and must be evolved through iterative development and assessment
- Full Product/Systems Development Lifecycle experience
- Prepared technical documents including research reports, proposals and business cases
