Tableau Product Manager
Summary
MTechZilla is hiring a senior Tableau platform owner for a 6+ month remote contract (Americas-based) supporting one of the largest enterprise Tableau deployments. Day to day: platform governance, dashboard performance tuning, author enablement, and extending Tableau with AI (Tableau MCP, custom skills, AI agents) on a Snowflake data layer.

About the role
We're looking for someone with deep Enterprise Tableau expertise for a 6-month contract engagement, Americas-based.
This is not a dashboard-building role. It's a platform-ownership role on one of the largest Tableau deployments around. We are looking for someone who can scale and extend Tableau with AI, including Tableau MCP, custom Tableau skills, and the AI agents Tableau is now shipping, so exposure to that side of the product is a real advantage.
Requirements
Must have
Strong working knowledge of Tableau as a platform, including content structure, governance, data sources, permissions, and the publishing process and workflow.
Hands-on experience improving dashboard performance by identifying and fixing slow queries, extracts, and workbook design issues.
Experience setting and maintaining best practices for a large community of content authors and creators, along with creating clear training and enablement materials.
Understanding of how different business teams use Tableau and the ability to anticipate their needs instead of simply responding to requests.
Familiarity with Tableau MCP and experience building or deploying Tableau skills and agent integrations.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to understand business needs, identify the real problem, and translate it clearly for engineering teams.
Comfortable working Pacific Time hours to ensure meaningful daily overlap with the client team.
Based in the Americas and available to work with teams in the region.
Strong professional English, with the ability to communicate clearly and confidently in stakeholder meetings.
Nice to have
Tableau certification is highly valued and can give a candidate an advantage over a similar profile without certification. Please highlight any Tableau certifications clearly. If not certified, the candidate should demonstrate strong senior-level Tableau experience in other ways.
Certifications, in order of preference:
Salesforce Certified Tableau Consultant
Salesforce Certified Tableau Architect
Salesforce Certified Tableau Server Administrator
Salesforce Certified Tableau Data Analyst
Other differentiators:
Experience with Snowflake, which is the data layer behind the Tableau deployment.
Understanding of governed BI versus dynamically generated dashboards, including cost, speed, guardrails, and security. The client is currently exploring this and does not have a final approach yet.
Experience working in a Tableau Center of Excellence or owning an analytics platform in a large organization with thousands of content creators.
Prior work inside a Tableau center of excellence, or as an analytics platform owner, at a company with thousands of content authors.
Experience running enablement for a large user base: office hours, documentation, community programs.
Experience applying Tableau Blueprint for enterprise deployment, governance, and user adoption.
