Taco - SEO Strategist
Bring strategic thinking, accountability & experience to a high-growth AI search company.
$3,500-$4K/month | Full-time | US Eastern overlapWe're Taco, an AI search and SEO company helping high-growth consumer companies and Fortune 1000 enterprises optimize for LLMs and AI-driven search engines like ChatGPT and Perplexity.
We're in year three and growing rapidly - adding MRR every month and moving upmarket as we close more enterprise accounts.
This is a high-performance, high-intensity environment where we all work hard, stay accountable, and drive results. In exchange, we offer unlimited PTO, strong compensation, and the opportunity to work with some of the best companies in technology.
Our delivery team is structured into pods, each generating roughly $1M in revenue. A pod includes an account manager, a content specialist, and an SEO strategist.
We currently have four strategists on the team, but we're growing ahead of demand and need to add two to three more before capacity becomes a bottleneck. We hire globally and work fully remote - our team includes exceptional talent from South Africa, Kenya, LATAM, and beyond.
If you're driven, strategic, and ready to take ownership of real client impact, we'd love to meet you.
We're looking for an SEO Strategist to own the SEO strategy for client accounts and drive the insights and recommendations that produce real search performance. You'll be the strategic thinker in your pod - not someone who waits to be told what to do, but someone who brings ideas, digs deep into the "why" behind decisions, and takes ownership of outcomes.
In this role, you will:
📋 Own the SEO strategy for client accounts, ensuring the strategy drives measurable search performance
🤝 Work alongside account managers and content specialists within a revenue-generating pod
💡 Bring strategic thinking and ownership rather than simply executing tasks
📞 Potentially join client calls occasionally (not a core requirement, but a nice addition)
Core overlap with US Eastern time is preferred - the more overlap, the better. A couple of hours off isn't a dealbreaker.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you need:
✅ Real SEO specialist experience (roughly 5-7+ years, though we care more about quality than years)
✅ Progression in past roles (e.g. analyst to senior analyst, with at least 2-2.5 years per role, not job-hopping)
✅ Strong written communication - able to explain your reasoning and go three layers deep on why you made specific decisions
✅ Clear spoken English (accent doesn't matter)
✅ Ownership mindset and strategic thinking - not the type who only executes when told what to do
✅ Accountable, hardworking, driven, with a strong willingness to learn and upskill
Brownie points for:
⭐ Willingness and ability to be client-facing (join calls, present work, etc.)
⭐ Experience working directly with enterprise or high-growth consumer brands
The ideal candidate thrives in a high-performance environment and brings strategic thinking to every piece of work. You don't need hand-holding or constant direction. Instead, you proactively solve problems, ask the right questions, and continuously improve your craft. You're driven by results and accountable for outcomes - not someone who waits around for instructions or forgets context from one conversation to the next. This role suits someone who wants to master SEO strategy, work with sophisticated clients, and be part of a team that values hard work and performance over politics or hierarchy.
