Tailoring Operations Manager

We are seeking an experienced Tailoring Operations Manager and Master Tailor to manage the day-to-day operations of our tailoring business.

The successful candidate must have extensive hands-on tailoring experience, with strong expertise in traditional and contemporary Indian wear. This is a hands-on management position requiring the candidate to personally undertake tailoring work while managing customers, orders, quality and the overall operations of the shop.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality cutting, stitching, alteration and tailoring of Indian traditional and contemporary wear.

• Take accurate customer measurements and conduct fittings and alterations.

• Demonstrate expert knowledge in the construction and tailoring of Indian garments.

• Understand different fabrics, garment structures, finishing techniques and tailoring requirements.

• Interpret customer requirements and work with designs, measurements and specifications to produce customised garments.

• Manage the complete tailoring process from measurement and cutting to stitching, fitting and final delivery.

• Maintain high standards of workmanship, fitting, finishing and quality control.

• Manage daily shop operations, customer appointments, orders and delivery schedules.

• Supervise and guide other tailoring staff as the business expands.

• Allocate work and monitor production to ensure orders are completed accurately and on time.

• Handle customer enquiries, fittings, feedback and service recovery when required.

• Manage fabric, tailoring materials, accessories and other operational requirements.

• Train and mentor junior tailors and maintain consistent tailoring standards.

• Support management in improving operational processes, customer satisfaction and business performance.

Requirements

• Must be an experienced Master Tailor with extensive hands-on tailoring experience.

• Strong expertise in Indian traditional and contemporary garments.

• Excellent cutting, stitching, alteration, measurement and fitting skills.

• Strong understanding of fabrics, garment construction and finishing techniques.

• Previous experience managing a tailoring shop or tailoring operations is preferred.

• Able to independently manage customers and the day-to-day operations of the business.

• Strong leadership, organisational and customer service skills.

• Able to work independently while also leading and supervising a tailoring team.
