Tax, Group Senior Manager
Job Purpose
Lead and oversee the Group’s regional tax strategy, governance, and compliance across Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Vietnam, including investment holding entities in Singapore and Malaysia. The role is responsible for ensuring local tax practices are aligned with Group policies, enhancing tax efficiency, and managing cross-border tax matters in collaboration with local tax teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Tax Planning & Corporate Transactions
- Drive tax planning and structuring for acquisitions, disposals, mergers, and group reorganizations.
- Assess tax implications of transactions across different jurisdictions and recommend tax-efficient structures while ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Work closely with Legal, Finance, and external tax advisors to align tax strategies with business objectives.
- Lead tax due diligence for potential acquisitions and provide tax support during post-acquisition integration.
2. Transfer Pricing
- Oversee the Group’s transfer pricing policies for inter company transactions, particularly arrangements between hospitals and related entities.
- Ensure transfer pricing documentation complies with OECD guidelines and local regulations.
- Conduct bench marking exercises to establish and support arm’s length pricing and manage potential tax audit challenges.
- Work with local tax managers to ensure consistent implementation and compliance across all jurisdictions.
3. Country-by-Country Reporting (CbCR)
- Oversee the preparation and submission of CbCR in line with BEPS Action 13 requirements.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial and tax information reported across jurisdictions.
- Coordinate with local tax teams and external advisors to gather and validate the required information.
- Monitor changes in CbCR requirements and ensure timely compliance.
4. Regional Tax Team Oversight
- Provide leadership, direction, and technical guidance to local tax managers across the region.
- Promote consistency in tax policies, documentation, and reporting practices.
- Encourage knowledge sharing and the adoption of best practices across country tax teams.
5. Tax Governance & Compliance
- Develop and maintain a robust Group-wide tax governance framework.
- Ensure timely and accurate tax reporting at the Group level.
- Review consolidated tax provisions and tax-related disclosures for financial reporting purposes.
6. Regulatory Monitoring & Tax Advisory
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and regulations across all operating countries.
- Assess the potential business impact of regulatory changes and provide recommendations to management.
- Represent the Group at relevant regional tax forums and industry discussions.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related discipline; professional qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CTIM would be an advantage.
- At least 10 years of relevant tax experience, with regional or Group-level exposure.
- Strong knowledge of ASEAN tax regulations, international tax principles, and investment holding structures.
- Proven experience managing or coordinating multi-country tax teams and stakeholders.
