Tax Manager

General Description

Tax Manager is responsible for managing the company’s tax compliance, tax risk, and tax advisory activities to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant tax operations. The role provides expert tax analysis and recommendations to support business and finance decisions, while identifying potential tax risks and improvement opportunities.

The role is expected to independently handle complex tax matters, support tax audits and inspections, ensure tax processes are properly controlled, and recommend improvements to tax procedures and practices in line with applicable regulations and business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee end to end tax compliance, including VAT, WHT, CIT, and other applicable tax obligations, ensuring accurate and timely filing and payment.
  • Review tax calculations, reconciliations, and supporting documents to ensure alignment between tax records and accounting data.
  • Identify and assess tax risks, discrepancies, and potential exposures, and provide recommendations for appropriate resolution.
  • Handle and coordinate tax audits, inspections, and tax authority inquiries, including preparation of supporting documents and responses.
  • Provide tax advice and practical recommendations to Finance and relevant business teams on transactions, commercial initiatives, and business activities.
  • Monitor changes in tax regulations and assess their potential impact on the company's operations, processes, and tax position.
  • Review and improve tax processes, controls, and documentation to strengthen compliance and reduce tax-related risks.
  • Maintain proper tax documentation and records to support compliance, audit readiness, and internal review.
  • Work closely with Accounting, Finance Business Partner, Treasury, and other relevant teams to ensure tax considerations are properly incorporated into business and financial processes.
  • Support tax planning and identify opportunities to improve tax efficiency within applicable regulations.
  • Provide guidance and knowledge sharing to junior tax team members and relevant stakeholders on tax matters.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Taxation, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 4-5 years of experience in taxation, with solid exposure to Indonesian tax compliance and tax advisory.
  • Strong knowledge of Indonesian tax regulations, including VAT, WHT, Corporate Income Tax, and related tax requirements.
  • Experience handling tax audits, tax inspections, and/or tax authority correspondence.
  • Strong ability to perform tax reconciliation, identify discrepancies, and assess tax risks.
  • Experience working with accounting/ERP systems and tax reporting systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in handling complex or ambiguous tax issues.
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain tax matters clearly to non-tax stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail, integrity, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Able to work independently and make sound recommendations within applicable regulations.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth, or e-commerce environment is a plus.
  • Willing to work full time onsite (WFO) in Bandung.
