Amazon's EMEA Direct Tax Reporting & Compliance team is scaling fast - and we're building the next generation of tax operations with AI-driven automation - not spreadsheets. Join us in Warsaw as a Tax Manager and help drive direct tax compliance for Amazon's portfolio in Europe, with a primary focus on Poland.
You'll own tax reporting and compliance for a portfolio of Amazon's EMEA legal entities, working directly with cross-functional partners across Accounting, Legal, and Transfer Pricing. You'll be part of a team actively deploying GenAI and automation tools to modernize how tax compliance gets done at scale. You'll gain exposure to high-complexity, high-visibility work: statutory filings, tax authority correspondence, audits, and cross-border restructuring projects
The successful candidate will be a highly organized self-starter with strong problem-solving and communication skills, a sharp attention to detail, and the ability to operate independently while working proactively across multiple functional teams in a deadline-driven environment. Beyond managing the compliance portfolio, this person is genuinely motivated to make things better - identifying inefficiencies, driving automation, and continuously raising the bar on how the work gets done. Experience leveraging technology and AI tools to deliver those improvements is highly valued.
Key job responsibilities
Working within the EMEA Foreign Reporting & Compliance team, Tax Manager will:
- Manage income tax compliance, including corporate income tax returns and income tax payments across the assigned portfolio
- Support income tax accounting and reporting under US GAAP and local GAAP and review international aspects of Amazon's worldwide income tax provision
- Manage relationships with external tax advisors and support tax controversy teams on audits
- Own process improvement initiatives - identify automation and simplification opportunities, drive reduction in in manual effort, and develop standard procedures for compliance and reporting processes
- Partner cross-functionally with Direct Tax Technology and Tax Transformation teams to resolve systemic issues and automate recurring calculations and corporate tax requirements
- Participate in special projects, including tax due diligence and integration support for M&A
- Research and document technical tax and tax accounting issues across the assigned portfolio; work with external advisors to assess the impact of new laws and regulations on Amazon's structure and business
About the team
The Amazon Tax department is a fast-paced, collaborative, high-ownership environment. The EMEA Foreign Reporting & Compliance team manages the worldwide tax-related filings and local tax reporting compliance of Amazon's foreign entities - a portfolio growing in scale and complexity as the business expands across the region.

Team members collaborate closely with Accounting, Legal, and Transfer Pricing across multiple countries, and own their portfolio of entities and jurisdictions from day one.
