1. Regional Tax Compliance & Reporting Ownership

  • End-to-End Governance: Own the tax controls and processes of direct and indirect taxes for all Singapore and regional entities. Independently manage the end-to-end tax compliance and Transfer Pricing processes.
  • Final Review & Sign-off: Take command of the tax compliance calendar. Responsible for the integrity of all Singapore and regional corporate tax filings and transfer pricing reporting. You will perform the technical review and ensure submission accuracy.
  • Group Tax Reporting: Partner with the Finance teams to review quarterly and annual tax provisioning, deferred taxes and ETR analysis. Work with local Finance Teams to monitor and explain variance in ETR, providing the Head of Tax with clear, data-driven commentary.
  • Tax Audit Defence: Serve as the primary lead for regional tax audits, managing the entire lifecycle from initial query to final settlement. Partner with Finance teams to ensure adequate documentation/ information and contractual integrity to defend tax audit.
  • Tax risks Strategy: Actively monitor the Group legal entities tax and transfer pricing positions, to proactively advise the Head of Group Tax on risks and opportunities.
  • Tax data management: Partner with Finance teams to implement automation for tax compliance, group tax reporting and OTP management; build and maintain an internal tax database and a rigorous regional tax compliance and TP tracker.

2. Operational Transfer Pricing (OTP) & Implementation

  • TP policy implementation on the ground: Lead the Finance teams to ensure arm’s length principle is met in intercompany transactions and transfer pricing risks are timely identified.
  • OTP Execution: Translate global TP policies into local operational outcomes. You own the end-to-end process, ensuring intercompany pricing is correctly executed and perform result-driven monitoring. This includes conducting regular financial monitoring, aligning actual P&L performance to TP benchmarks, executing true-up adjustments where necessary.
  • TP Documentation Leadership: Independently lead the timely preparation and technical defence of Master Files, Local Files, and evidential documentation to ensure tax audit readiness. Ensure financial data used in TP reporting reconciles with audited financial statements. Ensure all intercompany transactions are governed by robust, tax-compliant legal agreements and evidential documentations that reflect commercial realities and economic substance.
  • Intercompany Settlement Governance: Partner with Finance and Treasury teams to ensure intercompany charges, corporate service fee, IT fees and cost recharges are invoiced and settled in accordance with TP policies.

3. Finance-Tax Partnership

  • Tax Processes Support: Act as the technical lead for Finance teams on all tax compliance and reporting processes in ASEAN, India and Greater China, ensuring Group Tax Policies and Best Practices are understood and implemented.
  • Greater China support - To support the Greater China region,must be able to read Chinese documents and effectively communicate in Mandarin.
  • Drive Group Tax compliance programs: To ensure all legal entities are “Tax Audit-ready; Group Tax Policies and Best Practices are effectively rolled out and understood.

Job Requirements

  • Proven Autonomy: Candidates must demonstrate a track record of being a "Process Owner".

You do not wait for instructions; you anticipate the next step in the compliance cycle and organize the essential compliance activities and tax calendars. You take personal pride in the integrity of work and doesn't make excuses when deadlines approach.
  • Collaboration: Proven track record of independent liaison with stakeholders to influence outcome. Must be a team player collaborating with regional Finance teams and working with our Head of Tax in work planning, deadlines prioritization, Group Tax strategies and Tax policies implementation.
  • Good Organization and Project management skills: We need an operator, not a coordinator. Able to organize workflows, manage competing priorities, and good time management to meeting deadlines across multiple jurisdictions.
  • End-to-end Compliance Accountability: You do not act as a "mailbox." You review and validate all data before it leaves the tax department. You will take charge of the tax processes to lead desired outcome.
  • Mandarin required for effective Greater China region partnering.
