Tax Senior Manager

This is a remote position.

About the Firm

We are representing a well-established, award-winning RIA firm with a strong reputation built over 20 years through a deep focus on the client experience and a referral-driven growth model that speaks for itself. Their client base skews toward mid-affluent individuals and entrepreneurial business owners with investable assets between $1M and $20M. The firm offers investment management and financial planning today, and is now building out an in-house tax capability to deliver a truly integrated wealth management experience.

About the Role

The firm is launching a tax practice and looking for a Senior Tax Manager to come in as the founding tax professional. You will work closely with the firm's advisers to serve an existing book of clients — individuals, retirees, and entrepreneur-business owners — while helping grow an integrated service offering. The work is generalist in nature, which means real variety day to day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review individual, business, and trust returns for a mix of high-net-worth and mid-affluent clients

  • Work hand-in-hand with financial advisers on tax planning, Roth conversions, tax-loss harvesting, and ongoing strategy

  • Advise clients with concentrated positions, liquidity events, business ownership, and real estate on tax-efficient approaches

  • Serve as the primary tax resource for the firm's adviser team and client base

  • Help define and build the firm's tax practice from the ground up — processes, workflows, and client experience

  • Manage client relationships directly, with a focus on proactive communication and responsive service

Requirements

  • CPA required

  • 6+ years in public accounting, ideally at a boutique or mid-sized firm serving high-net-worth individuals and business owners

  • Generalist background with exposure to individuals, trusts, and small businesses

  • Strong communication skills and comfort working directly with clients and advisers

  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a remote environment

  • Self-starter mentality — this role requires someone who can operate independently and build, not just execute

Benefits

  • Base salary: $140,000 to $210,000 depending on experience

  • Bonus structure to be discussed based on candidate profile and experience

  • Opportunity to grow with a fast-scaling firm

  • Potential for profit sharing and equity participation as the tax practice matures
