As Strategy& Middle East continues to grow, we are looking for a Tax and Statutory Accounting Manager to join our Finance & Operations team in Beirut.

This is a regional leadership role responsible for overseeing tax compliance, statutory accounting, and regulatory reporting across the Middle East. Working closely with senior finance leadership, PwC tax specialists, external auditors, and finance teams across the region, you will play a key role in ensuring compliance with local regulations, strengthening governance and internal controls, driving tax optimisation initiatives, and supporting strategic business decisions.

Beyond technical expertise, this role offers the opportunity to lead a high-performing team, influence regional finance operations, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our finance function.

Responsibilities

Tax Compliance & Audit

  • Work with the wider Firm Tax team and local Tax Line of Service Specialists to understand tax laws and regulations across Middle East jurisdictions and assess their impact.
  • Contribute to managing and mitigating tax risks across Strategy& Middle East.
  • Ensure consistent implementation and adherence to tax policies across the region.
  • Lead tax optimisation and tax savings initiatives in collaboration with the Middle East Firm Tax Leader and the Senior Director of Finance & Business Operations.
  • Escalate material tax risks and compliance issues to the Strategy& Country Finance Leader and Firm Tax Leader.
  • Support business development activities by providing expertise on complex tax matters.
  • Manage tax compliance, regulatory reporting and documentation across the Middle East, including corporate income tax, VAT, withholding tax and other applicable taxes.
  • Lead tax authority audits in coordination with country finance teams and Firm Tax teams.
  • Oversee the monthly tax provision process, including tax balances and related costs.
  • Monitor tax budgets, costs and controls in partnership with the central finance team.
  • Prepare monthly tax reporting, providing insights into KPIs, balances and tax costs.
  • Ensure intercompany cost allocations comply with management agreements and transfer pricing policies.
  • Provide tax guidance and support to finance and pricing teams on ad hoc tax matters.

Statutory Accounting

  • Oversee and approve monthly statutory reporting transactions across all Middle East entities.
  • Manage revenue, disbursements and margins relating to cross-border engagements.
  • Review and sign off statutory accounting records and statutory books across all entities.
  • Review year-end trial balances and ensure statutory adjustments are accurately reflected.
  • Coordinate with external reporting teams to ensure timely statutory reporting and compliance.
  • Lead statutory, compliance, legal structure and contractual initiatives as required.
  • Develop and strengthen internal controls over statutory processes and reporting.

Local Content & In-Country Value (ICV)

  • Stay current with KSA Local Content and regional In-Country Value (ICV) requirements.
  • Lead initiatives to improve Local Content and ICV performance across the business.
  • Coordinate with auditors and PwC teams to support timely and accurate audits.
  • Review financial data supporting Local Content and ICV submissions.
  • Partner with local finance teams to validate information and obtain required approvals.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead, coach and develop members of the Accounting & Payroll team.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across Strategy& Middle East.
  • Partner with Finance, Pricing, Shared Services, PwC External Reporting, local finance teams and Firm Tax teams on statutory and tax matters.
  • Lead finance systems implementation and enhancement projects relating to tax and statutory accounting.

Knowledge, skills and abilities

Qualifications

  • University degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong knowledge in statutory reporting, regulations and compliance
