Summary
Performs physical construction labor at a site, operating tools and equipment, cleaning areas, and assisting other craft workers while adhering to safety protocols.

Summary:
This position is responsible for performing tasks that involve physical labor at a construction site using hand and power tools of all types. This position may also assist other craft workers in their duties, while also cleaning and preparing sites, digging trenches, setting braces for support, cleaning up rubble and debris, and removing other non-hazardous waste materials. In addition, this position may operate one or several types of power construction equipment, as well as repairing and maintaining all equipment as appropriate. This is all to be done using the appropriate equipment and implementing the required safety practices in support of RQ's Mission, Vision, and Values.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings or other structures.
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Demonstrates skills for determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
- Demonstrates skills in repairing machines or systems using the needed tools.
- Ability to communicate with supervisor and peers.
- Ability to come up with several ideas to solve problems.
- Ability to arrange items according to size or pattern with relation to equipment, tools, and materials.
- Ability to exert force required to lift, push, pull, grasp, twist, pound, swing, kneel, sit, stand, hold, lie down, manipulate, assemble parts and pieces, climbing, balancing, walking, stooping, carrying, bending, etc. without fatigue. This will require considerable use of arms, legs, and upper torso, including manual dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, visual acuity, finer dexterity, and static and trunk strength.
- Ability to operate electrical/motorized equipment such as skill saw, drill motors, rotary hammer, sawzall, jigsaw, power actuated tools, pneumatic tolls and equipment, builder's level, laser equipment, theodolite, hammer, screw drivers, chisels, sledge hammers, tape measures, pencils, framing squares, plumb bob, levels, torpedos (2 and 4 in), hand saws, power cords, utility knife, try square, combination square, pry bar, cats paw, etc.
- Demonstrates a motivation to set and maintain high quality standards by paying attention to detail and maintaining a high level of dependability and integrity in all business practices.
- Demonstrates self-control to maintain composure, and the cooperation to function within a team and with all required work direction to maintain a safe and functional project site.
- Demonstrates active listening skills by giving full attention to what others are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, and asks questions as appropriate to ensure accuracy of the product created.

Education and Experience:
- A high school diploma or GED is the preferred minimum formal education for this position.
- One or more years of experience with related work experience
- Two or more years (or equivalent) field or trade work experience in a commercial, or facilities operations setting is required; government, military, or large commercial construction experience preferred.
- CPR and First Aid Certifications preferred; Specific training or certificates in the following preferred:
- Fall protection training
- EM-385 40-hour
- OSHA 10-hour
Benefits:
Pay: $6.50 ph
- 15 days of paid vacation per year, entitled to be taken after completing 2 year's.
- Paid leave after 2 years of service of accrued time up to 30 days paid, and an additional 30 days unpaid between contracts (if desired).
- Company paid travel between job location and point-of-hire.
