TCN Purchaser - Warehouse

Since 1996, RQ Construction, LLC. has been a leading player in Southern California's robust commercial and governmental Design-Build economy. We have a national and international presence spanning coast to coast, including U.S. Naval Base Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and now, Puerto Rico. We offer management of projects throughout the United States, with our field operations team members who work on location for each of our projects. We specialize in fast-track projects in new commercial construction with a primary focus on the Department of Defense market.

Warehouse Buyer

SUMMARY: This position is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and coordinating the procurement of materials, equipment, and supplies for the Department's Warehouse team, ensuring accuracy in purchase orders, inventory records, and delivery schedules, while upholding RQ's Mission, Vision, and Values.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Knowledge of general building and construction materials, methods, systems, design and construction documentation, codes, and costs involved in the construction or repair of buildings and other structures to assist in sourcing, cost estimating, and vendor negotiations.
• Knowledge of purchasing and procurement procedures, including generating purchase orders, tracking deliveries, managing vendor relationships, and reconciling invoices.
• Knowledge of inventory management principles, including stock tracking, reordering thresholds, and warehouse record-keeping.
• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and vendor services, including meeting quality standards and evaluating supplier performance.
• Demonstrates active listening and reading comprehension skills to interpret material specifications, submittals, and vendor correspondence.
• Ability to comprehend, communicate, and negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms with vendors and suppliers, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to operate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) and the Internet to assist in completing purchasing and inventory management tasks.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• A high school degree is the minimum formal education required for this position.
• Business, supply chain, and/or purchasing college coursework preferred.
• Two or more years (or equivalent) purchasing, procurement, or buyer experience preferred.
• Work experience in warehouse management, materials procurement, or the construction industry preferred.
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Blue Beam, Internet, etc.) required. Specific software literacy (Adobe, GoTo, Viewpoint, etc.) preferred.

Compensation Package:

• This position will be based in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba
• Paid weekly - Pay $6.50/hr
• If over 48 hours, rate is 1.25x
• Aetna Int'l plan, employee only coverage
• Vacation: 15 days or 120 hrs./year
• Sick: 7 days or 56 hrs./year
• Bereavement leave: 2 weeks or $2,000 in lieu of
• A food allowance of $11/day + free accommodations and health insurance are also provided to those working at U.S. Naval Base Guantanamo Bay.
