TDC Education Support Specialist
SUMMARY
The Tulsa Dream Center Education Program is a place for children from all backgrounds to play, socialize, learn and grow. The Tulsa Dream Center Education Support Specialist assists the Academic teachers in a variety of functions, including observing, supervising, guiding and directing children. Additionally, assisting with organizational duties, and optimizing a safe and nurturing environment.
ESSENTIAL INFORMATION
This is a temporary, grant-funded position tied to a specific LIFE Program semester and applicable funding cycle. TDC may modify, reduce hours, suspend, or terminate employment due to funding changes or program needs. Employment will end on the established program end date or when grant funding is no longer available, whichever occurs first. The position does not create an expectation or guarantee of employment beyond the stated program semester and employment dates.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Helps to ensure the safety and welfare of the children and protects each from physical or emotional harm. This includes performing all tasks with an appropriate level of confidentiality.
- Provides an environment where everyone can have a positive experience throughout the day.
- Treats all children, families, and staff members with dignity and respect, and allows for individual differences.
- Assists the Teacher in implementing the daily curriculum, activities and supplies.
- Supervises and interacts with children at all times; mealtimes, rest periods, restroom times, and activity times.
- Helps with general housekeeping tasks.
- Maintains appropriate communication with staff, children, and families in a warm and professional manner.
- Performs all other job-related duties as assigned.
