About the Role
Te Pae Oranga is a Police-led alternative to the court process, focused on restorative justice and community involvement. As a Facilitator, you’ll support adults who have offended, and victims, through a voluntary process that promotes accountability and positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with participants and victims, explain the process, and prepare them for hui.
- Support participants and victims to share their stories at Te Pae Oranga panels.
- Monitor agreed plans for up to six weeks and record progress in the Arawhanui database.
- Work closely with Police, panel members, and community agencies.
About You
- Strong understanding of tikanga Māori and restorative practices.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Organised and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience in social services or justice is an advantage.
