Join Chambliss Center for Children as a Teacher Assistant at Little Scholars, our unique early learning center. This mixed-age classroom serves children from infancy through age 3 and up. It’s located at Momentum, a nonprofit that supports single mothers pursuing a college education. Your work helps those moms stay in school while their children get a strong start.

This is a part-time position with the potential to grow into a full-time role.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM (part-time, with potential for full-time)
Pay: Starts at $11, with higher starting pay based on education and experience.
Location: 1152 Lincoln Park Lane, Chattanooga, TN 37403

What You’ll Do

• Help supervise and care for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers in a mixed-age classroom.
• Support daily activities, play, and learning experiences.
• Help with meals, bottles, diapering, toileting, naps, and other routine care.
• Keep the classroom clean, organized, and welcoming.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers.

What You Need

• Prior classroom experience with young children (infants through preschool age) in a childcare center, preschool, or similar setting
• At least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED
• Able to pass a fingerprint-based background check
• Dependable, caring, and eager to learn
• Able to work as part of a team with children, families, and coworkers
• Able to lift infants and toddlers, stand, bend, kneel, and sit on the floor often, and occasionally lift up to 40 pounds
