TEACHER ASSISTANT (Part-time)

Hawkswood School, a NJ approved private school for students with disabilities, is searching for part-time Teacher Assistants to work with students on the autism spectrum and students with multiple disabilities, ages 3 through 21. This is a wonderful opportunity for matriculated students to gain valuable job experience, earn a competitive hourly wage, and obtain tuition reimbursement.

Teacher Assistants work closely with students under the direction of the classroom teacher and therapists in meeting each student’s individual program goals through academics, functional communication skills, social skills, and behavioral support.

At Hawkswood, we recognize the value of Teacher Assistantships for educating college and university students as developing professionals in training and for the important roles Teacher Assistants serve in interacting with, inspiring and helping Hawkswood students, and for providing critical support to teachers.

Work hours (mornings or afternoons):
Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. for a total of 18.75 hours per week
OR
Monday – Friday 11:30 a.m. – 3:15 p.m. for a total of 18.75 hours per week

(additional scheduling adjustments are available)

Teacher Assistants must work a minimum of 14 hours per week.
