Maranatha Christian School, an independent Christian school preparing learners for the Independent Examinations Board (IEB) examinations, invites applications from suitably qualified, enthusiastic and self-motivated educators.
We seek a passionate teacher who will develop learners’ business knowledge, entrepreneurial thinking and communication skills within a Christ-centred learning environment. The successful candidate must also be able to teach languages
Key responsibilities
- Plan and present engaging Economic and Management Sciences (EMS) and Business Studies lessons aligned with CAPS and applicable IEB assessment requirements.
- Teach languages according to the school’s timetable and subject allocation.
- Connect classroom learning to practical business situations, entrepreneurship and ethical decision-making.
- Develop learners’ analytical thinking, financial understanding and examination techniques.
- Set, mark and moderate assessments, maintain accurate records and manage school-based assessment portfolios.
- Prepare Grade 12 learners thoroughly for IEB examinations.
- Provide academic support and enrichment to meet individual learning needs.
- Communicate professionally with parents regarding learner progress.
- Participate in departmental planning, school activities and extramural programmes.
- Uphold the school’s Christian ethos and integrate biblical principles of integrity, stewardship and responsibility into teaching.
