Position Summary
The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic educator who is passionate about teaching Math while serving as a positive role model and supporting the mission of Catholic education. Peninsula Catholic High School seeks an innovative, collaborative, and experienced full-time math teacher (Algebra 1 and Geometry) for the 2026-2027 school year who has an enthusiasm for youth, skills for effective integration of technology in the classroom, and a desire to be part of a community with over a 120-year history of excellence in Catholic education.
Responsibilities:
- Foster a community of faith by applying Catholic doctrine, integrating beliefs into classroom life, and supporting students' spiritual development.
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards.
- Manage classroom dynamics to foster a positive learning environment.
- Assess student performance through testing and provide individualized support as needed.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance instructional design and curriculum development.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to promote educational goals.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with teaching methodologies and advancements.
Qualifications
- Virginia State teaching certification (or eligibility for certification) in Math.
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to integrate Catholic values into the educational environment.
- Commitment to the mission and philosophy of Catholic education.
