Teacher

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons that support student learning across core content areas
• Assess student growth and provide timely feedback to students, parents, and administrators
• Implement school discipline policies and maintain a positive, well‑managed classroom environment
• Maintain accurate records for student performance, discipline, lesson plans, and communication
• Communicate regularly with parents, colleagues, and administrators in a timely and professional manner
• Participate in school activities, including events, fundraisers, field trips, and supervision duties
• Attend faculty meetings, diocesan trainings, and professional development, including Catholic Identity Formation Training when required
• Support and reinforce Catholic teaching throughout daily instruction and interactions

Catholic Identity Expectations

• Understand and uphold the mission and philosophy of Catholic education
• Model the moral teachings of the Catholic Church in personal and professional conduct
• Practicing Catholic preferred, or an individual with strong knowledge of Catholic teaching and traditions

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or related field
• Valid Michigan teaching certificate, or willingness to enroll in an approved program within six months of hire
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, maintain confidentiality, and demonstrate professionalism in challenging situations
• Strong communication skills and the ability to follow written and oral instructions
