Description

As a Team Lead, you will guide a team of 12 engineers, combining leadership with technical expertise.
You will support the team’s growth, professional development, collaboration, and overall success.
Leveraging your technical background, you will grasp the challenges of the field and know exactly which questions to ask—all while helping to build smart energy products used daily by over a million households.
  • What will you do?
    As the Team Lead for Hardware & Embedded, you will oversee a multidisciplinary team consisting of four hardware engineers and eight embedded engineers.
  • You will provide direction, structure, and clear priorities, while fostering an environment where team members can collaborate effectively, develop their skills, and truly enjoy their work.
  • You will be a hands-on leader who understands the technical tasks your engineers are working on, engages in substantive discussions, and—when necessary—dives deep into the details or contributes directly to the team’s output.
  • You will coach the team in their personal and professional development, hold regular one-on-one meetings, and cultivate a strong, open team culture.
  • You will identify what your colleagues need to excel, encouraging them to take ownership and reach their full potential. While you provide trust and autonomy, you also offer clear direction, set expectations, and make decisions when required. In doing so, you will create a team where individuals feel heard and valued, and where colleagues know how to rely on one another.
  • At the same time, you will oversee planning, capacity, quality, and technical progress. You will be involved in key design and development decisions, helping the team address complex technical challenges in a pragmatic, results-oriented way.
  • Our environment is dynamic and technically demanding. You will maintain a clear overview as priorities shift, fostering strong collaboration between hardware and embedded teams, the product department, and other groups within the company.
  • You will align priorities with stakeholders and management, identify bottlenecks, and take the initiative to continuously improve processes and collaboration—ultimately helping our organization become more professional.
  • As a team lead, you serve as a primary point of contact for both your team and the wider organization. You foster clarity, connection, and trust, while supporting the professional growth of individual team members and the team as a whole. In this role, you contribute to building a robust engineering organization and nurturing the development of the people within your team.
What do we offer you?
You will take on a key role within our technical organization, with ample opportunity to influence both our products and the development of the team. Together, we make a tangible impact on energy conservation in households across the Netherlands and the rest of Europe. You can count on:
– A gross monthly salary between €5,500 and €6,500 (full-time);
– A profit-sharing scheme: you share in the benefits of our collective success;
– Training opportunities for your creative and professional growth;
– A pension plan, with a contribution from us;
– 25 vacation days (full-time), 8% holiday pay, and the option to purchase additional vacation days;
– A travel allowance (for commutes of 10 km or more);
– A MacBook or Windows laptop;
– HomeWizard products for you to test and help optimize;
– Daily lunch, fresh fruit, and (healthy) snacks, plus a catered, high-end lunch at the office once a month;
– A quarterly (sporty) staff outing or event, monthly drinks, a summer barbecue, a family day, and a Christmas dinner.
