Some units treat symptoms. CRU treats the systems that keep the body alive.
The Cardiac Renal Unit at Deaconess Midtown is a 39-bed telemetry unit specializing in the care of patients with complex cardiovascular and renal conditions. From heart failure, dysrhythmias, unstable angina, and pre-open heart surgery patients to renal insufficiency and kidney failure, CRU nurses care for patients whose conditions require close monitoring, expert assessment, and decisive action.
This isn't a unit where you simply pass medications and move on. It's a place where you'll learn to recognize subtle changes, interpret telemetry rhythms, manage complex conditions, and play a vital role in preventing complications before they happen. Every day challenges you to think critically, act confidently, and make a meaningful difference in patient outcomes.
What sets CRU apart is the level of expertise developed by its nurses. When it comes to cardiac and renal care, this team is known for its knowledge, clinical excellence, and commitment to delivering exceptional care.
If you want to become the nurse others turn to for complex cardiac and renal patients, CRU is where that journey begins.
