Team Leader - Level IV - 1st Shift

Job Summary:

We are looking for a talented Team Leader – Level IV1st Shift to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Cummins Inc. facility in Ladson, SC.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Coordination: Coordinate the activities of a group of employees, to ensure that production specifications and schedules are met, including volume, cost, wastage targets, and quality standards.
  • Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Compliance: Adhere to HSE standards, policies, and procedures, and use a proactive approach to reporting hazards and incidents, to contribute to a safer work environment.
  • Quality Assurance: Follow all applicable standard work, process documentation, and quality procedures, and perform quality inspections, to help maintain high-quality standards and minimize cost and exposures.
  • Delivery Management: Monitor the performance and output of the team, assign tasks, and respond to equipment faults, parts shortages, quality issues, and safety issues.
  • Training and Development: Ensure on-the-job training and other training requirements are scheduled, completed, and documented, to contribute to the continuous learning and development of the team.
  • Continuous Improvement: Assist in creating and maintaining a team focused on continuous improvement contributes to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of operations.
  • Coaching and Mentoring: Coach and mentor less experienced team members, to help build a stronger, more knowledgeable team.
  • Teamwork: Ensure effective communication with the assigned team and support teams, along with active participation in quality improvement, safety, process, material flow, and employee development, to foster a collaborative and productive work environment.

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
  • Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training, or on-the-job experience.

  • Lead, coach, and develop operators to work safely, meet customer-specific quality standards, and achieve hourly and daily production targets.

  • Hoist, Crane, and LOTO training required.
  • Working experience with remanufactured parts is highly desired.
  • Demonstrates flexibility to support changing production and operational demands.
