ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep the shop operating to standard and to set a positive example for the team.
  • Anticipates customer and business needs by evaluating the environment and customers for cues. Communicates information to the manager so the team can respond as necessary to help create a welcoming environment.
  • Assists with new hire training by positively reinforcing successful performance and giving respectful and encouraging coaching as needed.
  • Contributes to a positive team environment by recognizing alarming warnings or changes in employee morale and performance and communicating them to the Manager. Food preparation includes washing, slicing, and placement into storage containers, sealing, and dating labels of acceptable food products in quantities sufficient for ongoing order production needs.
  • Provides quality food and beverage products consistently for all customers by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards. Follows health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products.
  • Blender duties, including handling, production, and maintenance of blender areas and equipment according to best cleanliness practices and code requirements. Coordinates with food preparation to maintain food products in quantities sufficient for ongoing order production needs.
  • Product topper duties include stocking and holding at the appropriate temperature products within and on top of the topping preparation station according to best cleanliness practices and code requirements. Coordinate with food preparation to maintain food products in quantities sufficient for ongoing order production needs.
  • Assists in stocking stores in the back of house and front of house as assigned. Store food and supplies in accordance with established guidelines
  • Dishwashing, which includes Wash-Rinse-Sanitizing all utensils, wares, and food equipment; maintenance of kitchen/back of house areas according to best cleanliness practices and code requirements.
  • Bowl Shop set-up, cleaning, and trash disposal to include start-up, shutdown, and ongoing maintenance of the bowl shop environment according to cleanliness guidelines.
  • Maintains store areas at opening & closing time and during retail operating hours.
  • Maintains best practices in food handling and follows all Serve Safe protocols.
  • Operates, cleans, and maintains standard kitchen equipment; complies with kitchen sanitation rules and procedures.
  • Ensures compliance with safety and sanitation regulations by following Serve Safe regulations.
  • Operates the Cashier/POS system, which includes customer interaction, processing transactions, and coordinating order production. Also, maintains coffee and other beverage preparation and service, bakery items preparation and service, customer self-serve areas, condiment counter, and front-of-house areas, lighting, sound, and video displays.
  • Greets customers courteously and demonstrates knowledge and awareness of the entire line of SAMBAZON products.
  • Takes orders and requests from customers.
  • Treats the customers with the best customer service practices. If there are complaints, escalate to the Manager or Person in Charge (PIC) for better resolution.
  • Follows operational policies and procedures, including those for cash handling and safety and security, to ensure the safety of all employees during each shift.
  • Each Cashier is responsible for their own cash drawer and is responsible for any losses.
  • Meets schedules and timelines. Understands and follows written or oral directions. Maintains records.

The Person in Charge performs all the same functions in addition to more actively supporting the training of new associates, assisting with customer issues that need to be escalated, representing the Manager in his/her absence, ensuring that sanitation, food quality, and customer service standards are upheld; handles opening and closing duties.
