Summary

Hands-on architect in Hyderabad (in-office) to take a working MVP to a live, scalable multi-tenant SaaS platform: sets technical direction, leads MERN development, architects drone image/video analytics on AWS/Azure (Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD), and drives AI-assisted engineering with agentic coding tools.

Tech Architect: MERN | SaaS | AWS/Azure
Engineering / Technology • Reports to VP of Engineering / CTO • Hyderabad, India (in-office only) • Full-time
About the Role
We have a working MVP/POC and need a hands-on architect to turn it into a scalable, secure, multi-tenant SaaS platform and take it live. You will set the technical direction, lead MERN development, architect drone image/video analytics, and drive AI-assisted engineering.
Key Responsibilities

  • SaaS architecture: Design the multi-tenant architecture end to end (tenant isolation, billing, rate limiting, horizontal scale, cost), including REST/GraphQL APIs and microservices.
  • MVP to live: Decide what to reuse vs. re-architect, harden for production (error handling, logging, monitoring, tests, performance), and own readiness reviews, load testing, go-live, rollback and post-launch support.
  • MERN leadership: Lead MongoDB, Express, React and Node.js development, set front-end and back-end standards, and write and review production code.
  • Cloud & DevOps: Build and deploy on AWS/Azure with CI/CD (blue-green/canary), Docker and Kubernetes, working with DevOps/SRE on observability and IaC.
  • Identity & extensibility: SSO (SAML 2.0, OIDC/OAuth2, SCIM, RBAC) per tenant; public APIs, webhooks, SDKs and a versioned, sandboxed plugin model.
  • Security: Defense-in-depth (gateway, WAF, authN/Z, encryption, secrets, audit logs), threat modelling and security reviews, including AI-generated code.
  • AI-assisted engineering: Drive agentic coding tools (e.g. Claude Code) with review standards, guardrails and quality gates; evaluate LLM and computer-vision capabilities.
  • Leadership: Set standards, approve HLDs, guide LLDs, lead modernization, mentor senior engineers, run POCs, partner with product, and keep architecture documentation current.

Required Qualifications

  • 10-15 years in software engineering, including 3+ years as an architect
  • Strong hands-on MERN and AWS/Azure; Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD
  • Proven track record taking an MVP/POC to a live, production SaaS product
  • Multi-tenant SaaS, billing, distributed systems and microservices; Kafka/RabbitMQ, SQL/NoSQL, Redis, object storage
  • SSO/enterprise authentication; security architecture (OWASP Top 10, secrets management, tenant isolation)
  • Drone image/video analytics exposure (RTSP/RTMP/WebRTC/HLS, FFmpeg/OpenCV, ML model serving, geo-tagged data)
  • Demonstrable use of AI agentic coding tools (e.g. Claude Code); LLM basics (RAG, tool calling)
  • Awareness of SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR; clear communication; experience leading architecture reviews

Preferred/ Added advantage having experience in
DJI/MAVLink/PX4 SDKs; GIS/photogrammetry (GDAL, PostGIS); edge inference and stream processing (GStreamer, DeepStream, Triton); developer ecosystem/marketplace; zero-trust, mTLS, SAST/DAST, SIEM; usage-based billing; MCP and LLM agents; Terraform/CloudFormation; SRE practices; cloud, TOGAF or security certifications.
Drone analytics: Architect live and bulk image/video ingestion, processing, model inference, storage and API delivery; handle large files, low bandwidth and telemetry/geo-tags; decide real-time vs. batch, GPU use and edge vs. cloud inference.
