Own and evolve technical architecture across Rust services, Go infrastructure, and Next.js/TypeScript surfaces on Google Cloud. Write production code, align system boundaries across pods, lead design reviews, improve engineering practices, mentor engineers, translate ambiguous goals into technical plans, and communicate through design docs, RFCs, and post-mortems.
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the technical architecture across Rust, Go, Next.js, TypeScript, and Google Cloud.
- Write production code in critical services, shared libraries, integrations, and load-bearing systems.
- Align system boundaries, interfaces, data models, and non-functional requirements across engineering pods.
- Lead design reviews and unblock teams on difficult technical decisions.
- Improve code review, testing, observability, on-call, and incident response practices.
- Mentor engineers, calibrate seniority, and develop technical leadership.
- Translate product and research goals into clear technical plans and sequenced execution paths.
- Write design documents, RFCs, and post-mortems.
Requirements
- 5+ years building production software.
- 2+ years in an engineering leadership capacity such as tech lead, staff engineer, or architect.
- Deep hands-on proficiency in Rust, Go, Next.js, TypeScript, and Google Cloud.
- Experience designing and operating high-throughput, low-latency systems.
- Track record designing distributed, performance-sensitive systems.
- Strong judgment around code quality, testing strategy, abstractions, correctness, latency, throughput, and operability.
- Experience influencing technical direction and mentoring senior engineers.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Based in Latin America and able to overlap meaningfully with US Pacific hours.

- Bonus: experience with web3 trading venues, crypto, zero-knowledge systems, open source, large-scale products, CI/CD, observability, on-call, or early-stage startups.
