Who we're looking for
What you'll do
- Own the Voice Stack: Lead the design, build, and operation of Supio's voice capabilities. Take a hard, high-impact problem from idea to reliable production
- Connect Every Channel: Build and improve the pipelines for fax, email, and SMS, including intelligently routing inbound messages to the right case so law firms never miss what matters
- Turn Requirements into Solutions: Translate ambiguous product needs into practical technical designs. Think through how real users will interact with the system and shape what we build
- Lead and Elevate: Guide one or two engineers with clear direction, thoughtful code reviews, and sound engineering practices that fit a fast-moving startup
- Build with AI First: Use AI coding agents and custom tooling to plan, build, review, and ship faster, and help raise the team's AI-native craft
- Run What You Ship: Take ownership of production quality through monitoring, on-call, and continuous improvement of the systems you build
Qualifications
- Experience: 8+ years of software engineering experience, including building and shipping user-facing products in a hands-on capacity
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Technical Skills: Full stack engineering with strong backend depth, and experience building distributed systems that run across multiple servers
- AI Application Experience: Hands-on experience building applications with AI agents or LLMs, from design through production
- AI-Native Engineering: Demonstrated, day-to-day fluency building with AI coding agents, such as planning with agents, reviewing their output, and creating custom skills or tooling
- Engineering Fundamentals: Strong system design, testing, and code review practices, with a practical sense of which engineering principles matter most at a startup's scale
- Product Judgment: Sound instincts for user experience, and the ability to turn half-formed product requirements into well-scoped technical solutions
- Leadership: Experience guiding and mentoring other engineers while remaining a strong individual contributor
- Ownership and Communication: Comfort operating autonomously, communicating clearly with technical and non-technical teammates, and following through on hard problems
Nice-to-haves
- Experience building with voice or telephony
- Experience with messaging pipelines (SMS, email, fax) or message routing and classification
- Startup experience, especially during growth from a small team to a larger one
- Experience owning production systems and on-call for them
Compensation
- Seattle, WA: $220,000 – $280,000 annually
