Salary: ฿67,000 – ฿100,000 per month

We are looking for a Tech Lead (Java Full-Stack) to lead our development squad on an Insurance Core Platform — Motor & Property Lines, Quotation, Renewal & e-Policy.

6+ Years of professional software development experience with Java (Spring Boot and/or Java EE), including 2+ years leading a development team; also had front-end experience with Angular or Vue.js.

9am-6pm Hybrid work (3 days on-site in office at Ploenchit Tower, Chitlom BTS)

Soilfish is a Bangkok-based software house delivering development and support services to leading insurers. We are expanding our onsite team working on the core general insurance platform of a multinational insurance company — covering motor insurance (quotation, renewal, registration/claim flows), property insurance (e.g., flood coverage), and e-Policy systems, all integrating with the client’s core insurance service.

As Tech Lead, you will lead an established Soilfish squad embedded in the client’s Agile delivery process — owning technical direction and delivery quality, staying hands-on in the code, and representing the team in meetings with multiple stakeholder parties.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a squad of full-stack developers: assign and prioritize tasks, review code and designs, coach team members, and own overall delivery quality of the squad.

  • Own solution design and technical direction: propose solution ideas, select appropriate technology stacks and frameworks for new modules, and align them with the client’s architecture and standards.

  • Stay hands-on: design, develop, and enhance web applications (front/back-end, more focus on back-end) for motor and property insurance modules — quotation, renewal, and e-Policy.

  • Build and maintain REST APIs (Java Spring Boot) that integrate with the core insurance system and its Oracle PL/SQL layer.

  • Maintain and troubleshoot legacy Java applications running on JBoss/WildFly application servers, including server configuration and deployments on both Linux and Windows environments.

  • Own DevOps practices for the squad: build/release management with Maven/Nexus, Git branching and code review on GitHub Enterprise, deployment scripts, and CI/CD improvements.

  • Represent the team in meetings with a large number of parties — client business and IT teams, partner vendor teams (frontend, QA, core-system teams including overseas members) — and manage the resulting commitments, priorities, and follow-ups.

  • Estimate effort and plan sprints together with BA/PM; identify risks and blockers early and drive them to resolution.

  • Lead production deployments and cutover activities (occasionally outside business hours); triage incidents on live systems and drive root-cause fixes.

  • Support SIT/UAT cycles: coordinate fixes across the squad, walk through results with stakeholders, and resolve defects tracked in JIRA.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.

  • Minimum 6 years of professional software development experience with Java (Spring Boot and/or Java EE), including at least 2 years leading a development team (Tech Lead, Team Lead, or Senior Developer with team ownership).

  • Proven leadership track record: has run a team before — task management, code review, mentoring, and accountability for the team’s delivery.

  • Strong solution-design skills: able to evaluate technology stacks and frameworks, propose solution options with trade-offs, and defend design decisions with the client.

  • DevOps capability: CI/CD, Git-based workflows, artifact management, and deployment automation; comfortable on the command line in both Linux and Windows.

  • Hands-on experience with Java application servers — JBoss/WildFly strongly preferred (Tomcat/WebSphere acceptable) — including standalone configuration and WAR deployment.

  • Solid SQL skills on Oracle Database; ability to read and debug PL/SQL packages is a strong advantage.

  • Front-end development experience with Angular or Vue.js (the platform uses both); newer modules may adopt modern JavaScript/TypeScript stacks.

  • Experience in insurance or banking domain systems is a strong advantage; prior hands-on work on a general insurance core system is a significant plus.

  • Strong soft skills: proactive and enthusiastic, communicates clearly within the team and across parties, high sense of responsibility and ownership, and performs well under pressure.

  • Comfortable attending and managing meetings with many stakeholder parties; able to present technical topics to non-technical audiences.

  • Able to read and write English well (documentation, email, and specifications are in English); meetings may include overseas team members.

  • Able to complete the client’s onboarding process, including mandatory compliance training and background verification.

  • Comfortable with hybrid working and onsite days at the client office in central Bangkok; available for occasional evening deployment windows.

  • Can start immediately or within October 2026.

Location: In Center of Bangkok (Pleonchit Tower, Chitlom BTS station)
