Tech Lead Platform Team Backend-Focused

You will architect and maintain integrations with external systems, design APIs and services, operate AWS infrastructure, establish CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code practices, and improve monitoring and reliability. You will investigate incidents, resolve root causes, use AI-assisted development tools, lead architecture reviews, set technical standards, and mentor engineers.

Responsibilities

• Architect and maintain integrations with external third-party systems
• Design and implement well-structured APIs and services
• Build and operate AWS services
• Establish CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code practices
• Implement monitoring logging and alerting
• Investigate incidents and resolve root causes
• Use AI tools for code generation debugging testing and documentation
• Set technical direction and engineering standards
• Lead architecture and design reviews
• Mentor engineers and improve code quality and delivery practices

Requirements

• 8-10+ years of backend or platform engineering experience
• Experience with system integrations workflow orchestration and API-driven solutions
• 2+ years in a technical leadership role
• Experience owning architecture decisions and delivering complex projects end to end
• Strong backend engineering experience preferably with Node.js and TypeScript
• Experience with event-driven or serverless systems
• Strong AWS experience
• Experience with CI/CD and production services
• Experience using AI coding tools and integrating LLM APIs
• Hands-on experience with relational databases including AWS Aurora PostgreSQL or MySQL
• Experience with schema design and ORM frameworks such as TypeORM
• Strong analytical and debugging skills
• Fintech payments crypto or financial services integration experience is advantageous
