Tech Lead / Senior Full Stack Engineer

Details:

• Location: Poland Hybrid (2 days per week from the Kraków office)

• Contract: B2B, 12 months with possible extensions

• Rate: 180-220 PLN net per hour + VAT

• Team Context: High-performing technology team within Wholesale Credit & Lending Technology.

• Project Context: Part of a major 3–4 year PRA regulatory transformation programme.

• Countries: Plan for rollout across approximately 60 countries.

Summary: The role of Tech Lead / Senior Full Stack Engineer is pivotal for the Wholesale Credit & Lending Technology team, aimed at building and implementing AI-powered solutions and modernizing core credit and lending technology platforms.

Main Responsibilities:

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to the engineering team.

• Remain hands-on with Java Full Stack development.

• Design and contribute to scalable, enterprise-grade solutions.

• Bring practical experience in building or integrating AI-based capabilities into applications and platforms.

• Support architectural and technical decisions across the workstream.

• Conduct and oversee high-quality code reviews.

• Establish and promote modern engineering standards and development practices.

• Work closely with engineering managers, architects, and other technical stakeholders.

• Ensure solutions are pragmatic, maintainable, and scalable without unnecessary overengineering.

• Support the modernization and eventual decommissioning of legacy platforms, including GARM.

• Contribute to improvements in data quality, traceability, lineage, and governance across wholesale credit and lending models.

• Support the adoption of "golden source" architecture principles across multiple systems and markets.

Key Requirements:

• Strong Java Full Stack engineering experience.

• Previous experience acting as a Tech Lead, Lead Developer, or technical owner.

• Strong database knowledge, particularly PostgreSQL / Postgres.

• Hands-on experience developing AI-enabled applications, features, or solutions.

• Understanding of how AI/LLM capabilities can be integrated into enterprise software.

• Strong software architecture and system design capabilities.

• Excellent code review skills.

• Progressive engineering mindset and knowledge of modern development practices.

• Ability to make pragmatic technical decisions in a fast-moving environment.

• Experience delivering scalable enterprise applications.

Nice to Have:

• Quantexa experience.

• Claude / LLM ecosystem exposure.

• Basic DevOps knowledge.

• Experience within banking, lending, credit risk, or regulated environments.

Advanced DevOps knowledge is not required, as there is a dedicated DevOps function.

Cloud experience is not required.
