Tech Lead Software Engineer

About the Role:
As we continue to expand, we are looking for a Tech Lead Software Engineer to take technical leadership across our web, mobile, backend, and AI initiatives — including the revamped taxPOD all-in-one tax learning platform and our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. This is a hands-on leadership role: you will set technical direction, run the team's delivery rhythm, and stay close enough to the code to be credible in it. We embrace AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code) as a standard part of our workflow, and we expect this role to set the bar for how well the team uses them.
Key Responsibilities
Software Development
Design and develop scalable applications using .NET Core (C#), PostgreSQL, and Azure.
Build and maintain secure, high-performance APIs.
Maintain the MBRS module in compliance with SSM requirements.
Integrate AI technologies such as LLMs (OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Claude, DeepSeek) and RAG into our products.
Develop AI features including intelligent search, document analysis, and workflow automation.
Lead AI initiatives such as askPOD and AI-powered automation.
Improve AI performance, accuracy, and cost efficiency.
Enhance RAG pipelines, document processing, and data workflows.
Promote effective use of AI coding tools and best practices across the engineering team.
Technical Leadership
Define technical architecture and engineering standards.
Mentor and support software engineers.
Work closely with Product, UI/UX, Frontend, and Infrastructure teams.
Guide the team in adopting modern development practices and AI-assisted engineering.
Agile Delivery
Lead Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
Plan and manage sprint delivery.
Remove blockers and ensure projects are delivered on time.
Monitor team progress and continuously improve development processes.
Quality & Performance
Ensure high code quality through testing and code reviews.
Improve application performance, security, and reliability.
Optimize cloud infrastructure and database performance.
Requirements
Minimum 5 years' experience in software development, preferably in a senior or technical lead role.
Strong experience with:
.NET Core (C#)
Angular
Experience with REST APIs, Microservices, CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes.
Familiarity with Flutter is an advantage.
Hands-on experience using AI coding tools (such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or similar).
Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
Experience in tax, accounting, or audit software is an added advantage.
