Tech Lead Subscriptions Team
You will lead and mentor the Subscriptions engineering team while balancing operational leadership with hands-on engineering. You will own technical strategy, architecture, planning, delivery timelines, and SLA commitments. You will develop and maintain PHP and Go subscription services, modernize legacy code, improve reliability and scalability, and coordinate stable releases with Product, QA, and DevOps.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor the Subscriptions engineering team across backend services.
- Own architectural decisions, technical planning, and project delivery timelines.
- Provide reliable ETAs, monitor delivery progress, and ensure SLA commitments.
- Develop and maintain subscription services in PHP and Go.
- Guide refactoring and modernization of legacy PHP codebases.
- Improve system scalability, performance, and operational reliability.
- Partner with Product, QA, and DevOps to ensure smooth releases and stable production environments.
- Foster engineering best practices, code quality, and technical documentation.
Requirements
- 6+ years of backend engineering experience with PHP and/or Go.
- Experience leading teams, managing delivery, and owning SLAs.
- Experience with legacy PHP, migrations, and modernization.
- Experience with REST APIs, microservices, and database optimization.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, monitoring, and observability.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Experience with Redis, Kafka, or RabbitMQ.
- Experience with monetization, payments, or recurring billing systems.
- Experience in gaming, fintech, or other high-load environments.
